Jurassic World: Dominion is the latest (and supposedly last) film in the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise, and it sees both trilogies joining forces as characters old and new unite to take down the evil Biosyn.
The film, which like Jurassic World (2015) is directed by Colin Trevorrow, has grossed $876 million at the global box office and is currently the third highest-grossing film of 2022.
But when will fans be able to rent, download, purchase or stream the movie? Well, fortunately, Universal Pictures has shed some light on all the above, while even announcing a date for digital downloads.
First of all, let’s start with the bad news. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to stream Jurassic World: Dominion on Peacock until later on this year. And as it goes without saying, you won’t find it on any other streaming services.
However, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has confirmed when the movie will be available to watch at home on digital and on-demand services, which may come as a bit of a surprise to fans of the movie.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment shared the following on their official Twitter account:
So, Jurassic World Dominion is available on Digital and 48-hour rental on Friday, July 15. The Jurassic World Dominion Digital HD version is now available for pre-order at the price of $29.99 on retailers.
While you may wish to stream the movie before making a purchase, unfortunately releases don’t tend to become available on Peacock Premium for four months after their theatrical run.
As such, you’ll have to wait until October/November time for it to appear. There is, however, a 43-minute documentary special Jurassic Park to Jurassic World: The Greatest Moments currently available to stream on Peacock.
There will be a number of places where you will be able to stream and rent Jurassic World: Dominion. As the official jurassicworld.com website states, these services include Prime Video, YouTube Video, xfinity, and many more.
But many fans want to know when we can expect the Jurassic World: Dominion DVD and Blu-ray. While a date hasn’t been confirmed, we do know that Jurassic World: Dominion: Extended Edition will include 14 extra minutes of footage.
Jurassic World: Dominion: Ultimate Collection will also be made available, which will include all six films in the series. While there’s no release date as yet, many of these are now available for pre-order with most major retailers.
Jurassic World: Dominion is described as the “epic culmination to the entire series” and the “end to the Jurassic era”. As per the official Jurassic World: Dominion website, here’s the synopsis for the film:
From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.
Jurassic World Dominion, from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, propels the more than $5 billion franchise into daring, uncharted territory, featuring never-seen dinosaurs, breakneck action and astonishing new visual effects.
Jurassic World: Dominion stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood), Omar Sy (Barry Sembène), Mamoudou Athie (Ramsay Cole), BD Wong (Henry Wu), Campbell Scott (Lewis Dodgson), DeWanda Sykes (Kayla), Jeff Goldblum (Dr. Ian Malcolm), Sam Neill (Dr. Alan Grant), and Laura Dern (Dr. Ellie Sattler).
Jurassic World Dominion is available for digital purchase and rental beginning July 15.
