The new Tokyo Revengers 2 teaser was shared by Warner Bros. Japan and it features footage from the first film. However, the teaser concludes by announcing that the sequel will be released next year. Although an official release date was not revealed, fans are already excited about the second movie.
The first Tokyo Revengers film was released in July 2021 and it adapted the First Arc of Ken Wakui’s manga, concluding with Takemichi returning to the present to meet Hinata Tachibana. With that in mind, the sequel is most likely to adapt the Valhalla arc and a part of the Bloody Halloween arc. This would also mean that there will be several new characters that are set to debut in the live-action sequel. For now, the new cast members have not yet been announced. However, most of the main cast are expected to reprise their roles in Tokyo Revengers 2. The main cast included Takumi Kitamura as Takemichi Hanagaki, Ryo Yoshizawa as Manjiro “Mikey” Sano, Yuki Yamada as Ken “Draken” Ryuguji, Yosuke Sugino as Naoto Tachibana, Mio Imada as Hinata Tachibana, Gordon Maeda as Takashi Mitsuya, and Hiroya Shimizu as Shuji Hanma. The sequel’s announcement also confirms that Takumi Kitamura will be very busy in the next few months. The 12 Suicidal Teens actor was recently confirmed to play Yusuke Urahime in the live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series adaptation. The Netflix show is set to premiere on the streaming service in December 2023. Tokyo Revengers 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
