That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime – A Hit Isekai Series
In case you need a refresher, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (commonly referred to as Slime Isekai or TenSura) is an anime series by 8Bit that’s based on the light novel series of the same name by Fuse. It began as web novel series but was then picked up by Micro Magazine in 2014 and published as a light novel series. Its story is still ongoing, and it has proven popular enough to receive a manga adaptation along with several spin-off manga. As for the anime, the adaptation started with a two-cour first season that aired from October 2018 to March 2019. Because the first season proved to be a hit, a split-cour second season followed, which aired during the Winter 2021 and Summer 2021 seasons. Even before the third season’s announcement, a movie entitled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond was announced. It is set to release in cinemas in Japan on November 25, 2022. TenSura Season 3 Info and New Visual
The upcoming season will be a follow-up to the second season’s story, though the upcoming film will also be set after Season 2. Currently, it’s unclear if the movie is canon and if Season 3 will acknowledge and continue its events. The announcement post did not share much in the way of story details, but it did share an official key visual that features Hinata Sakaguchi facing off against Rimuru (who is off-screen). Given this, we expect to see Sakaguchi play a big role in the next season. Although we got our first glimpse at the anime through the visual, there’s no word yet regarding the staff and release date of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3.
