During an interview for his upcoming movie Hunt, the award-winning actor discussed his thoughts about the highly anticipated sequel.
Lee Jung Jae on Returning as Seung Gi Hoon
The 49-year-old actor was asked about the director’s plans for Squid Game 2, he politely answered that they never spoke about the upcoming sequel after being confirmed that he will reprise his role as Seung Gi Hoon. “Director Hwang Dong-hyuk even came to the afterparty of Hunt VIP Premiere, but I didn’t ask him anything. After knowing that I would star in the work, I didn’t ask anything,” he said, as obtained by KBizoom. As for his appearance in the forthcoming season 2, Lee Jung Hae expressed his excitement and said that he is looking forward to “see Seung Gi Hoon’s feelings from the first scene to the end.” In addition, he also pointed out how the first impression of a character is very important. “There are many times when my feelings while acting on the set were different from that when I read the scenario, but I don’t ask anything because I think I might lose my first impression of the work if I get just a little information,” the award-winning actor explained. Lee Jung Jae plays one of the hundreds of debt-ridden participants in the death-defying game in order to take home the 45.6 billion won cash prize. Interestingly, apart from the actor-director, Lee Byung Hun is confirmed to join the second season, reprising his role as The Frontman. Squid Game 2: What We Know So Far?
