Will One Piece Film: Red Have a Blu-ray and DVD Release?
As of writing, no information about the Blu-ray and DVD release of One Piece Film: Red has been confirmed yet. However, it is most likely to happen soon after One Piece Film: Red’s theatrical run concludes. It is not uncommon for an anime film to be released on Blu-ray or DVD. It is one method of increasing sales, as each Blu-ray or DVD release is costly. What’s more, with every anime release comes piracy, which drastically reduces sales. This is why producers are doing everything they can to boost sales by promoting Blu-ray and DVD releases in order to recoup production and distribution costs. When Will One Piece Film: Red Be Released on Blu-ray and DVD?
Because One Piece: Film Red is not yet done with its theatrical run, it will take some time before it is released on DVD and Blu-ray discs. Don’t worry though, because die-hard One Piece fans will not have to wait long. Prior to Red, One Piece Stampede premiered in Japan on August 9, 2022, and had its Blu-ray and DVD version distributed in March of the following year. Based on the DVD and Blu-ray release dates of the previous film, we can speculate that it will be the same with One Piece Film: Red. Since One Piece Film: Red was released in Japan on August 6, 2022, its DVD and Blu-ray releases will likely arrive in early March 2023 following the same release window as the previous film. Nonetheless, fans are expecting that One Piece Film: Red, like other DVD and Blu-ray releases, will include bonus items such as acrylic dioramas, commentary, a booklet, postcards, stamps, and even stickers!
