Chisato x Takina Ship
Though it may not have been the most anticipated show heading into July this year, Lycoris Recoil quickly became one of the stand-out anime of the Summer 2022 season. It even gained several noteworthy fans, including Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima. The show became popular thanks to its interesting premise as well as its loveable characters, especially the main duo of Chisato Nishigiki and Takina Inoue. Lycoris Recoil (or LycoReco as it’s affectionately called by fans) is not exactly a yuri anime, but it’s undeniable that its two main stars had a strong chemistry. The show is also one of the few anime to have a confirmed gay couple. As the series progressed, more and more fans began to ship Chisato and Takina. Many were entertained by their dynamic as Takina’s serious nature is perfectly complemented by Chisato’s happy-go-lucky and cheerful personality. Without getting into deep spoiler territory, the show’s ending was open-ended when it came to their relationship, which means the door is still very much open for the duo. Though based on the new merch, it seems that even its creators are active shippers of Chisato and Takina. Lycoris Recoil Bridal Merch
There have been several interesting pieces of merch before, including a boxers-shaped clear case that references a certain episode. But now, the latest merch features Chisato and Takina in bridal gowns. Specifically, the new merch line includes a wall scroll that’s priced at JPY 6,000 (around USD 44) and acrylic figures of Chisato and Takina that are priced at JPY 2,500 (around USD 18) each. The wall scroll also comes with a URL that links to a special voice drama that’s written by series director Shingo Adachi. Though each of these items is limited to only three pieces per person, likely to discourage resellers. These new LycoReco items will be available at the Aniplex booth at Comic Market 101 (aka Comiket Winter 2022) which is happening from December 30-31, 2022. While new merch for the series is still being released, there’s currently no word yet on whether there will be a Season 2 for Lycoris Recoil.
