So what exactly was it that happened to these two that led to their obvious dislike of each other? Charlie Vickers confirms that the tense history between Sauron and Adar will immediately get addressed in the second season. In The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 Episode 6, it is revealed that Adar is one of the Moriondor or Elves who were corrupted by Morgoth. The Uruk also claims to have already killed Sauron but when he faces the disguised Sauron as Halbrand, Adar doesn’t seem to recognize the Dark Lord.

Still, it looks like the two characters are set for a reunion as Halbrand has returned to Mordor. Charlie Vickers has also confirmed that the relationship between Sauron and Adar is a complicated one. “They have a complex past,” Vickers told Polygon of the connection between Sauron and Adar. “They have been in conflict for quite a long time now. We see an element of that in the sixth episode. And I think it’s pretty obvious when you watch the show that there’s going to be more of that relationship.” He then added that their history is something that will be explored in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. “We’re going to learn more about it. So I don’t want to speak too much about it, but pretty quickly in the second season, we learn more about that history. But it is complex, and it has deep roots, and I think that will be exposed as the show goes on,” Vickers said. This is an exciting thought considering that we’re looking forward to another clash between Sauron and Adar. With that in mind, we can’t wait for the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
