Isekai Yakkyoku Episode 2 Recap
The second episode begins with the Archduke reading Ellen’s resignation letter. Ellen decided to discontinue her tutoring after witnessing Pharma’s divine arts. As a result, Pharma was summoned to her home to deliver a nutrient potion concocted by the Archduke. Pharma decided to make a fever medicine as well as an ointment for Ellen’s jammed finger to persuade her to return. He also went out of his way to get Ellen’s favorite cerulean flowers. Pharma was perplexed to see Ellen dressed in knight’s armor at her house. Pharma used this as an opportunity to explain himself and persuade Ellen that he didn’t mean any harm. He also wants him to be his tutor again. Ellen decided to return to Pharma as her tutor, despite her reservations. They started training Pharma’s uncontrollable divine arts in the hopes that it would improve with time. Back in the mansion, Pharma examined all of the servants with his Divine Eye. He discovers that some of them have back and joint problems that require medical attention. He also discovered that his Divine Eye can detect human conditions in blue light, which turns white if the condition is curable and dim if it is not. Pharma decided to put his skills to the test by developing a treatment for Lotte’s hand eczema. He gave the medicine to Lotte, who ended up crying because she was so happy. According to Ellen, ordinary people lack the funds and resources to access medicine. To Pharma’s chagrin, it appears that only the wealthy and noble can afford medical examinations. Thus, Pharma resolved to become a pharmacologist and medical practitioner who does not discriminate based on socioeconomic status. The Archduke informed Pharma during dinner that his sister Blanche had chickenpox. Chickenpox is still incurable in this day and age. The good news is that Pharma has previously contracted chickenpox, which means he is immune to the disease. Nonetheless, his father warned him not to approach Blanche because there is still a risk of infection. Back in his room, Pharma decided to make a chickenpox medicine for Blanche. He also made an ointment to soothe her itchy blisters. Pharma crept into Blanche’s room after finishing the medicine. To avoid the bitter taste of the medicine, he made Blanche eat it with the macaroons. Much to the Archduke’s surprise, Blanche recovers before the episode ends. However, Pharma noticed something strange about his father after he coughed frequently. Regardless, an emergency summons has been issued for the Archduke and Pharma to the Empress’s residence.
