The official HBO Max YouTube channel uploaded House of the Dragon Episode 1 on Thursday, September 1, 2022. The Heirs of the Dragon, which clocks in at 65 minutes, introduced viewers to King Viserys I Targaryen as he prepares for the birth of his male heir. But when the difficult birthing leads to the death of both his queen and the baby, the king needed to make a choice that would eventually lead to the downfall of House Targaryen.
It’s great to know that people who don’t have HBO or HBO Max will now be able to experience the first episode of House of the Dragon. However, it’s also noted that the timing is an interesting one considering that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premiered on the same day.
It’s no secret that HBO wants House of the Dragon to get as much buzz as possible considering that its predecessor Game of Thrones was one of the network’s biggest hits. It’s also clear that HBO is actively playing up the competition between Dragon and Rings of Power, which are both epic adaptations of fantasy literature.
For now, it is unclear which show will get more viewers or praises for its cinematography and story. We are hoping that people watch both shows and enjoy them to the fullest.
