The House of the Dragon Episode 6 preview was dropped immediately after the fifth episode concluded and it confirmed the 10-year time skip. In addition to introducing Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, the teaser offered our first look at the teenaged Aegon II Targaryen as he trains with the young Jacaerys Velaryon.
At first, fans thought Prince Aegon II is being played by Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard. However, the teenager is actually being portrayed by Ty Tennant, the son of former Doctor Who actor David Tennant. Naturally, the Doctor Who connection isn’t lost to Whovians and House of the Dragon fans. After all, the series already stars the Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen. Ty Tennant comes from a remarkable Doctor Who lineage. His grandfather Peter Davison was the Fifth Doctor while his mother Georgia Tennant played Jenny aka The Doctor’s Daughter. This somehow makes him the Doctor’s Son and Grandson at the same time. But in House of the Dragon, Ty is set to play Aegon the Elder (yes, there’s yet another Aegon coming). House of the Dragon Episode 5 is now streaming on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 6 is titled The Princess and The Queen and will premiere on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
