The Super Mario Bros. Movie takes everyone back to the Mushroom Kingdom once more after 29 years since the 1993 Super Mario Bros. film. It is a collaboration between Nintendo, the producer of the famous game franchise, and Illumination, the production studio, bringing the film into life as distributed by Universal Pictures. The Super Mario Bros. Movie will follow Mario, a plumber, who goes through an underground labyrinth together with Luigi, his brother, to save Princess Peach and it is the film adaptation of the famous video game of the same name. Joining Chris Pratt who voices Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie are Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike. Khary Payton will voice the Penguin King and the voice of Mario in the game franchise, Charles Martinet, will be voicing an undisclosed cameo. The Super Mario Bros. Movie will have its theatrical release on April 7, 2023.
