Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is also known as the Kang War which is a 16-part story in the comics following Kang the Conqueror, a known warlord from the future, from the 30th century, and he is one of the most dangerous and longest villain of the Avengers.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty just landed its director with the some filmmaker that made Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Destin Daniel Cretton as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. It has not been released or revealed who the writer of the film would be.

With Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings under Cretton’s belt, it would be no surprise that he could land as the director of the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty which will be coming out on May 2, 2025.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is expected to follow the comic book material wherein it is based on: the storyline of Avengers #41 to 55 and Avengers Annual 2001. Kang the Conqueror arrived at the present time with his son, Marcus, with the goal of being a conqueror, hence, his moniker. He was able to do so and his success earned him being a villain against the Avengers.

Of course, as per the title, Kang the Conqueror would be present and that means Jonathan Majors will be suiting up as the next Thanos-level threat to the multiverse and the heroes.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty releases in theaters on May 2, 2025.
