READ MORE: Avatar 2 Star Teases Avatar 3 Will Introduce More Pandora Regions
In a recent interview with Variety, Avatar: The Way of Water screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver tease that the upcoming sequels are not as predictable as you think. Sure, they are bound to have similar familial aspects, however, Cameron himself did say he had to revise a couple of times to ensure their production value before getting greenlit for his franchise. Check out the screenwriters’ comment below:
“You have this kind of deeply relatable series of dynamics, inter-family, interpersonal, inter-clan, played out on these incredibly inflated scales of different worlds.” The screenwriters continue on to tease we’ll be meeting new clans in the ongoing franchise, “The clans that you’re going to meet and the worlds that you’re going to find on Pandora — you can’t even imagine what they are. Just like the tulkun were a revelation for this movie, there’s lots more of that stuff to come. It’s incredibly exciting, the story that happens to the Sullys. You couldn’t predict it.”
Given the already grand scope of Pandora, and the sneak peek that Neytiri (and possibly the Na’vi community) would only be able to explore and discover earth by the time Avatar 5 comes into play, there is no doubt that the adventures and exploration the characters would have to deal with in between will remain a mystery. That is, at least until they start releasing marketing materials to the internet, which we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for here on EpicStream.
Avatar: The Way of Water is currently showing in theaters now, with Avatar 3 slated for release on December 20, 2024. ALSO READ: Avatar: The Way of Water Writers Reveal Why The Sequel Was Split Into Two Movies
